“Passion for the Process”
Basketball Camp
Becoming an elite basketball player doesn’t happen overnight. The Passion for the Process Camp is built to show athletes what that truly looks like.

Ignite Your Potential
Becoming an elite basketball player doesn’t happen overnight. It takes consistent effort, time, and a deep “passion for the process.” The Passion for the Process Camp is built to show athletes what that truly looks like.
Each three-hour camp day is divided into:
Mental skills
Building confidence, servant leadership, positivity, and other virtues of elite players.
Physical training
Weight room and track work to develop strength, speed, and endurance.
Game skills
Shooting, finishing, and basketball-specific drills performed when players are fatigued, mirroring game conditions.
Players are pushed mentally and physically while being surrounded by expert instruction, positive support, and clear recognition of growth. They are encouraged to embrace vulnerability and failure in a safe environment, learning not just to understand the process—but to love it.

He has since become an ICF Professional Certified Coach, helping athletes build confidence and mental resilience, allowing them to grow both on and off the court.

Coach Lane Thomann
Entering Deer Creek-Mackinaw, Lane was a 5’7”, 140-pound freshman who barely saw the floor on varsity. By the time he graduated, he was an IBCA All-State player, three-year all-conference honoree, IBCA All-Star Game MVP, and the school record holder for points in a game (46), single-season scoring (25.6), and single-season and career three-point percentage (.430 / .410).
His college journey has been similar. After two years on the bench at U of I Springfield (including a redshirt year), he kept grinding. Now, in two years at Millikin University, he’s become one of the most physical players and one of the most accurate shooters in the CCIW, a league known for both, earning all-conference honors in each season.
Lane is a Physical Education major and a certified NASM Personal Trainer. His passion for mental, physical, and basketball skill development is the driving force behind this camp. He will lead every workout and personally demonstrate the technique, speed, and intensity required to truly improve.
